| Business Studies |
At sometime or other, everybody gets involved in a form of business
activity, particularly in today’s global economic climate where
business skills are becoming more important than ever. At Scarborough
College Business Studies is offered at GCSE, AS and A2. To find out exactly
what students study at the three different stages, take a look at the
documents below. |
| Geography |
The overall aim of the department is to aid pupils' knowledge and understanding
of how economic, environmental and social phenomena interact in a spatial
context by following an enquiring approach. The department employs a spiral
curriculum with topics such as coasts, ecosystems, industry, rivers, settlements,
weather, being studied at different levels. |
| History |
History is a popular subject throughout the school. Many Students take
the subject through to GCSE and then on to A level and develop their analytical
skills to the highest levels. There is a strong tradition of College sixth
formers going on to study History at University. September 2003 saw an exciting
expansion of the department with the launch of AS Goverment and Politics.
The cut and thrust of contemporary British Politics makes this a stimulating
subject to study for those prepared to keep abreast of current affairs. |
