Pastoral care
High standards Junior School pupils benefit from a high standard of pastoral care. Younger children enjoy the attention and security provided by Class Teachers whilst junior pupils are guided by the interest and concern afforded by Form Tutors who oversee social development as well as academic progress.
  Upon entry to the Reception Class until the end of Year 6, pupils also belong to one of three Houses under the leadership of a Housemaster or Housemistress. The House system strengthens each child’s identity within the school community and enables a degree of internal competition to take place.
Boarding Boarding (full, weekly and flexible) has been re-introduced at the Junior School for pupils in Year 5 and Year 6. Children are accommodated in two very comfortable houses that have been recently refurbished to a high standard and these are situated close to the main campus on Filey Road. Resident staff ensure that there is a friendly, family atmosphere and children readily enjoy the experience of living and working with their friends at school. Out of school care and Holiday Clubs

The out of school care service provided for children aged 3 – 8 years at the Junior School is in accordance with the terms of the Children Act (2004). The school aims to provide high quality, affordable and accessible childcare for parents who have such needs due to work or other commitments, and for those who would like their children to have opportunities to play and socialise in a safe environment after school. We receive children each weekday from 8.00 am until the start of the official school day at 8.30 am. Out of school care is available from 3.30 pm until 5.55 pm during school term time. Children attending the session after school have opportunities to just relax, or to spend time enjoying a planned range of safe and creative play activities. During all the major holidays and half-term breaks, a Holiday Club is available from 8.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m. Further details about this provision are available from the Junior School Office.
