Denys Crews House
Denys Crews House was opened in April 2005 by former Headmaster, Mr Denys Crews. This is a smaller house which accommodates boys in Year 11 and the Sixth Form.
This cosy Victorian house still boasts many of its original features alongside some of the most modern boarding accommodation in the area. Boys have either single or twin bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities and each room is equipped with a direct dial telephone. There is a large common room, well equipped kitchen, games room and a large garden and patio area for the summer. The house is served by a wireless internet service and for those boys without their own laptops there are several available to borrow. Denys Crews House is situated across the road from Weaponness and Willersley Houses and has some spectacular views of the coast and Scarborough town.
The house has a warm atmosphere where boys from all over the world come to live and study together. The house staff are available for support both academic and pastoral at all times of the day and night. As all the boys in this house are engaged in public examination work, we cultivate an environment in which they can work quietly, but when the work is done there are plenty of opportunities to socialise together. The kitchen is the heart of the house where boys can cook along with Mr Davies and Mrs Thomas, who are fast becoming proficient bakers to meet the demands of the boys’ insatiable appetites. Many of the rooms have space for boys to invite friends to stay the evening just as they would in their own homes.
