Success for our students at the Scarborough Art Festival

charlotte Last week the Old Boatyard Gallery hosted the 2011 Scarborough Art Festival.

This year, for the first time there was a schools competition and all the schools from our locality were asked to provide 4 paintings, which were to be judged by the highly acclaimed painter, Clive Head.

Clearly, the local schools were keen to be represented by their best artists and so the challenge was laid down for our own students to compete.

In the 17-18 category Charlotte Osthelder was second.

In the 15-16 category Theo Rintoul came third and Eva Cheung was first!

A very impressed Councillor John Blackburn, the Mayor of Scarborough, presented an assortment of prizes including books, materials and portfolios.

Mr Sutcliffe said “It was lucky for the other schools that we were only allowed to enter four paintings, as the College could have easily won everything!”
