The Year 3 children thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the Roman Museum in Malton at the beginning of November. They are studying the Roman way of life and their legacy in History lessons and found the ‘hands-on’ activities a stimulating way of understanding more about this period.
They were able to handle ‘real’ Roman pottery, dress up in Roman clothes, make mosaics and play some Roman games.
They finished their outing by visiting the site of the Roman fort,Derventio, where they imagined what life would have been like for the soldiers living there.
