The U13 girls put in an impressive performance at Caedmon School, Whitby, on Tuesday November 1st, beating Norton 2-1 in the final. On the way they beat Rydale 4-0, Malton 4-0, Caedmon 3-1 and a ‘Mixed 7′ 3-0. They then went on to play Eskdale in the semi final, winning 3-0.
Top goal scorer was Harriet Stephenson with other goals scored by Grace Sykes, Katie Lewis and Georgia Holdsworth. The defence, comprising Sam Burdett, Vanessa Ng and Sarah Marsden in goal only conceded 2 goals all afternoon.
Special mention should also go to the ‘super subs’ Pippa Burdass and Kerri Arundel.
This was an excellent performance from a predominantly Year 7 team competeing against Year 8 girls from all the other schools in the District. Well done!
