Scotland Tour 2011

scotland-tour-2011-u13-and-u14-7 Another very successful tour to Scotland for the U13 Rugby and U14 Hockey teams.  With both teams sporting their new tour shirts, the mini buses headed North on friday evening, a quick feast at the Golden arches and then settled into our guesthouse close to the city centre.

Saturday morning was filled with exploring the city including Edinburgh Castle, A museum called Camera Abscura and some shopping on Princes Street.

The boys match against Fettes was called off due to waterlogged pitches, but the girls fought out a very tough game with a skillful Fettes side.  Nancy Coombs in goal, Katie Bulmer, Eleanor Harvey and Connie MaQuade in defence holding out strongly.

Sunday saw two fixtures against Longridge Towers School near Berwick.  The girls again drew their game, this time on grass and can be very proud of their efforts on tour.  The boys had a great game of rugby in the mud and the wind losing 45-38.  Josh Welburn playing very well and scoring two tries.

It was a tired but happy group of students and staff that arrived back in Scarborough on Sunday afternoon.
