On Wednesday 5th October, Scarborough College Junior School hosted its second Macmillan fund raising event.
Instead of a “Coffee Morning”, we opted for “Afternoon Tea “which proved to be a more popular time for the parents to come and have tea and cake before taking their children home.
The event was extremely well attended and the atmosphere in the Junior School hall was a warm, friendly mix of pupils, parents and staff. As well as refreshments, this year we held a raffle for some lovely home baked cakes and Macmillan organised a prize draw with some very nice prizes indeed which will be announced next month.
After only two hours, we raised an amazing £380 for this important charity.
I would like to thank all the pupils and their parents who donated a wonderful array of home baking. My thanks also go out to everyone who helped make it such a successful afternoon and not forgetting the Mums who gave up their valuable time to help serve, chat and clear away.
I look forward to raising even more money at next year’s event.
