The junior rugby teams have been showing their skills this week in some very entertaining games. Bramcote and Woodleigh combined their boys to provide the U13 a game. Scarborough College started slowly looked nervous in their first game of the season. However improved in the second half and gave the bigger boys from the Bramcote and Woodleigh team a much better game. Alex Ingham, the Captain, led the way with three well taken tries. On Saturday the U13 had a tough game against a well drilled and skilful Ashville side. We were well beaten and good lessons have been learnt.
The U14 rugby team opened their season with a strong display against Pocklington B’s. Strong running from Oliver Brown cut through the defence for the first two scores. Good to see James Bulmer having recently joined the school leading from the front as the Captain. The team played some fluid rugby and tackled well when under pressure.
The Girls 1st XI did well to reach the final of the Scarborough District cup but lost in the final to Ampleforth. Losing a cup that we have held for 25 years!
The U15 have continued their great start to the season with a big win over Read school this weekend. The girls are really enjoying their hockey and are dominating all the teams they meet. Georgina, Kate and Alice are a very skilful trio that are at the heart of all the good College play.
The U13 lost to Read; again they are younger and smaller than their opposition and are learning a great deal from these early seasons games.
