In June,Year 5 and 6 have been on a fantastic camping trip at Sledmere Grange Farm. The weather was glorious and the pupils had a great time getting involved in numerous activities. The pupils were taught how to put up tents and make a safe fire for cooking. They all spent several hours collecting firewood and leant how to make a table from Ash, on which they had to participate in the continual stream of washing up!
On the Tuesday morning the pupils had the opportunity to try archery and rifle shooting. They then spent the afternoon preparing salad and cooking bread, pork and chicken in an earth oven for their parents who arrived for a BBQ in the evening. Camp songs, silly games and melting marshmallows were among the wonderful memories made and the trip looks set to become a yearly event.
