“Scarborough College’s intrepid group of explorers have arrived in Borneo and begun the first phase of their expedition. After a long journey involving three flights and a few hours break in Brunei, we arrived at Kota Kinabalu in Sabah (part of Malaysian Borneo).
The first day was spent getting our bearings, changing money, on a boat tour to the water villages offshore and arranging bookings for later parts of the expedition.
An important part of this trip is that the pupils make decisions themselves under guidance from the leaders. For many in the group the first day has been an enjoyable, but steep, learning curve!
