Scarborough College is delighted with another excellent set of results in the prestigious International Baccalaureate examinations. The average points score of 31 matches its previous results which have put the College among the top 35 IB schools in the UK.
95% of the students obtained the IB Diploma and 67% of students gained over 30 points. Harsh Samarendra and Natasha Griffiths both scored 41 points, a real achievement. Harsh was very nervous as he collected his results but did more than enough to achieve his dream of going on to study medicine at Keble College, Oxford and Natasha will use her extensive language skills on her course studying linguistics at University College, London. Other top scorers include Stephen Robertson with 38 points who is heading for Newcastle to study medicine, Mark Normington with 39 points who will go to York to study history and Emma Sargent who also gained 39 points and has ambitions to go into events management.
The range of subjects which our students follow is extensive. This year we have students who will go on to do everything from Architecture to Fashion Journalism, Psychology, Physics, International Management and Modern Languages. The IB Diploma and Certificate courses allow students of all abilities to fulfil their potential and their ambitions both in the UK and abroad.
Congratulations to all the students not only on their results but for their contribution to the College during their time here. We wish them well in the future and look forward to hearing of their progress and to welcoming them back in November for the Prize-giving and Ball.
